SSM Week in Review: Volume 1
This is something new that I am going to start adding on top of the other blog post each week that focuses on what we are doing on Wednesday nights. It will give just a brief look back at what we are studying in God’s Word and a little more commentary about the night.
Weekly Teaching Series: The Great Encourager (1 of 5): Abide in Jesus
Biblical Passage: John 15:1-7
Sermon in a Sentence: Abiding in Jesus helps us develop a life of encouragement.
Understandable Message: Through abiding in Jesus we learn to love others as Jesus did and from this fullness, encouragement will flow out of us naturally and authentically. We will take on the heart and character of Jesus, and do what he desires and that is to encourage one another.
Elements of Fun/Positive: We had a sweet game of banana, orange, and apple and also promoted the Super Bowl party coming up with some new visual aids.
Music Playlist: Shake Jesus Shake Me, Child of Righteousness, Cannons, Your Love is Deep
Favorite Moment: Getting to see students understand that to show Christ’s love we have to encourage each other in our group and build encouragement with each other first.
