April Ministry Update

Another busy month is behind us and we are moving quickly to summer. On Wednesday nights we are still going through our series entitled “Identity Theft”. Over the next few weeks we will cover:

4th - Robbed By the Past - 2 Corinthians 5:15-17
11th - Self Sabotage – The Habits that Rob Your Future -Col. 1:9-11
18th - Altered Images – Changing Who You Are to Fit In- Romans 12:1-2
25th - It’s Not My Fault – Excuses, Excuse, Excuses - Gen. 3:1-9

Here some upcoming events and activities coming up in the next few months.

Serving Knoxville as One/Operation Inasmuch
Youth, Children, and Family Mission Project: April 21st

All youth, their families, and all others are encouraged to servetogether at Montgomery Village on April 21st. This will be a fantastic project that will involve the entire family. There will be many options for your to serve such as: mulching/landscaping, putting together hygiene give-a-way bags, operation of games, building relationships, set up and tear down, feeding the community a hot dog lunch, and much more. We will have sign up sheets around the church for those who want to be involved. The planned times will be 9am-1pm. You can come in shifts of 9am-11:30pm and 11:30-1pm or you can be there the entire day. Please prayerfully consider youth families involvement in this mission project.

SUMMER YOUTH PANAMA CITY BEACH TRIP—JUNE 10-15
The total cost of the event will be $250 per child. This is a great price that includes transportation, meals, room, binder with materials, t‐shirts, and speakers. We are going to introduce a new payment plan option. Starting today, you can start making payments for this trip in any amount that you like until you pay the full $250. You can pay weekly or monthly in any amount. We are trying to keep it very flexible to help you out this summer. Whenever you send in a payment, please make sure you include the child’s name and PC 2012 on the check or envelope. Then we will send you a receipt back so that we both have record of the payment.

Also don’t forget that we meet each Sunday night at 5:15 for contemporary worship called “The Stand”. This worship service is directed towards family so make every effort to worship together as a family on Sunday nights. After “The Stand” youth move to a time of learning how to share their faith without fear and the adults move into a bible study themed around the movie Courageous. There is a lot taking place for the whole family on Sunday nights at Smithwood so please make every effort to attend.
